Grapevine
Grapevine real estate makes for smart investments. Home prices and values are well above the state median prices due to the many positive aspects of the town. Located on the south shore of Grapevine Lake and a short drive from Dallas, Grapevine is a modest town of about 50,000. Much of the population is made up of families, but there is also a sizable group of singles living in the city. The town offers residents a wide range of nearby industry and recreation.

History of Grapevine, Texas
The small city was first settled by Americans in the 1840s but was not officially incorporated until 1907, according to the city’s website. The town grew slowly from that time until 1974, when the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport was completed. After that, the population saw rapid growth for several years as people moved in to take airport-related jobs.
Educational Opportunities
A large percentage of the town’s adult population has college degrees, and that emphasis on education is reflected in the city’s schools. The town has one public high school and a handful of elementary and middle schools, several of which have received top ratings. It is also close to many colleges and universities, including the University of Texas at Arlington and Texas Christian University.

The high incomes of its residents have resulted in much higher than average home prices for the surrounding area. Most real estate for sale in Grapevine is made up of single-family homes, but there is a good selection of condos and townhouses as well. For those not ready to buy, the town also offers plenty of apartment and home rentals. (The majority of homes are owner-occupied though, not rentals.)
