The absolute coolest things to do in Dallas

April 30 2013

Things-to-do

To keep things short and simple, today we’re going to discuss just a few of the most unique, and unforgettable experiences that Dallas can provide!

Zero Gravity — The most incredible, adrenaline pumping theme park ever created. You can bungee jump, free fall, and ride some of the fastest, most terrifying rides in Texas. It’s a little pricey, but worth it. And it’s not just me, if P!nk and Stephen Tyler have been, then it has to be pretty cool, right?

The Eight Track Museum — The world’s first ever eight track museum, and yes it is exactly as it sounds. It offers amazing testimonies to the place of the eight track in musical history as well as numerous exclusive tracks by various artists. Sadly, now there is a second location in Roxbury, New York, however, the collections are still unique in each location.

Art Saveur — So I love food. And I love art. So this is a no-brainer to me. A locally renowned chef creates a dinner experience inspired by a current thought-provoking art exhibition. The cost is not cheap… it’s $135 per ticket. However, it’s not a bad deal for this one-of-a-kind experience including hors d’oeuvres, a 4-course meal, live entertainment, and more. This is a very, very rare occasion, in fact they haven’t done an event in over 8 months. However, as soon as this organization announces the next one, there is literally every reason in the world to check it out and consider buying a ticket.

Lakewood Theater Events — This iconic theater is home to both the largest burlesque performance in the state and a twice monthly Rocky Horror Picture Show, in addition to numerous concerts, charity events, weekly karaoke, and much more. I highly recommend checking their calendar and attending an event soon.

Texas State Fair — Yes it is only at a certain time, but this the biggest state fair in the country, and it takes place in Dallas! If you have never been then you’re missing out. Great food, fun rides, interesting exhibits, and more.

Giant Jenga at Barcadia — You read that right. What’s better than drink specials and a childhood game that has been remade using giant pieces? On top of that, Barcadia also has numerous vintage arcade games available for play.

There are plenty more incredible things to do in Dallas, but this quick list should give you a great place to get started. As we find more amazing destinations and attractions we will be sure to let you know about them!
